Over the Weekend: Trump advises the UK's PM to sue the EU over Brexit

Over the weekend, US President Donald Trump gave UK Prime Minister Theresa May "brutal" and "tough" advice regarding Brexit. On Sunday, PM May revealed Trump's big advice during a live interview with the BBC.

According to PM May during her interview, Trump told her that she should sue the EU over Brexit terms, and should not "go into negotiations", effectively pushing for an extreme, hard-Brexit scenario that would prove economically devastating for the UK and its businesses. PM May gave a chuckle on live television after revealing Trump's big strategy for Brexit negotiations, and traders will now be looking forward to headlines from Trump's big meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki.

Tensions could be running on the high side for the Trump-Putin summit, which Trump has suggested could take place entirely behind closed doors with no witnesses present, after 12 Russians were formally indicted in the still-ongoing Mueller investigation last Friday.
