FTSE rises 0.4%
FXStreet (Mumbai) - The London’s Ftse index advanced 0.4% to trade at 7040 levels, rising for the fifth day on the back of gains in Vodafone group shares and miners.
Vodafone gains 4.2%
Shares in Vodafone gained 4.2%, to the highest level since Feb 2014 after investment bank Goldman Sachs said in a note after meeting with Vodafone’s chief financial officer that the company is likely to sell than buy assets.
Meanwhile, miners also provided support to the index. Anglo American Plc and BHP Billiton Plc rallied more than 1%, while Severn Trent slipped after reporting full-year sales that missed analyst estimates.
FTSE Technical Levels
The immediate resistance is located at 7053.18, above which gains could be extended to 7083.72. On the other hand, support is seen at 7015 and 6968 levels.
